Introducing our New ECD Certified Pathways

One system. Four specialities. Three certification levels. Six recognition tiers. 

When we first launched The Emotional Culture Deck, it wasn’t a system. It was a tool. Something simple, practical, and human that helped people talk about how they feel at work.

But over time, something bigger happened.

People kept using it. Not just once, but again and again. They built rituals around it. They used it to design culture. To lead teams. To navigate change. To connect with customers. They turned it into a system.

So we’ve caught up with what our community has already been doing.

Today, we’re proud to introduce our new ECD Certified Pathways. A structured, flexible way to grow your emotional culture practice.


Why we made this change

Most culture, leadership and change programmes ignore emotion. Ours don't.

But until now, our certifications didn’t fully reflect the depth or diversity of the work our community was doing.

We’ve reimagined the certification structure from the ground up to:

  • Clarify how the Emotional Culture System works

  • Recognise the real emotional labour people are doing

  • Give you clear, supported ways to go deeper in your work and expand your impact 

  • Build a global network of emotionally connected leaders and facilitators


What’s changed

We’ve moved from a single, linear certification model to a flexible, modular system. Here’s how it now works:

Four Speciality Pathways:

  • Emotional Culture – Craft team culture from the bottom-up

  • Emotional Leadership – Help leaders lead with emotion, not just strategy

  • Emotional Change – Guide people through change emotionally

  • Emotional Stakeholder – Design emotionally connected experiences

Each pathway starts with a Specialist Course and builds from there.

Three Certification Levels:

  • Practitioner – Learn to facilitate emotional conversations

  • Consultant – Deliver ECD courses, certify practitioners, and lead programmes

  • Master – Be recognised as a global leader in emotional culture work

Six Status Tiers:

From Rising to Elite, every step recognises your real-world impact. Not just a set of theoretical modules completed.


What this means for you

Whether you’re just getting started or already deep in the work, this new structure gives you more clarity, more growth opportunities, and more recognition.

  • If you’ve already taken an ECD Specialist Course, you’re on the pathway.

  • If you’re new, you can start with any one of the four Specialities.

  • If you’re ready to lead the work, our ECD Certified Consultant Development Programme will take you there.
