1 ECDÂ
Activity
The ECD can be a very useful tool when forming new partnerships, whether those are between individuals, teams, departments, or different organisations.
Use The ECD to answer this question:
What do you want to feel and not feel in this new partnership?
Step 1:Â Select the three black ECD cards that best answer this question above.
Step 2: Share why it's important that you experience these feelings in this new partnership.
Step 3: Describe what will help you experience these feelings in this partnership.
Step 4: Complete steps 1-3 for the undesired feelings (ECD white cards).

2 Pieces of Content
To Inspire
Here are two pieces of content that I hope will help you see the world slightly differently and provoke you to do the work that matters to humanise the workplace.

If you've taken a journey with The Emotional Culture Deck, you'll intimately know the profound magic it unfolds – the power of gifting people with the words and labels to truly express themselves. Using The ECD takes us deeper into our inner worlds (individually and collectively).
In this article, we learn about the power of language and how we can harness it as leaders. We learn that there are certain words, those special ones, which, when placed in the right context, at just the right moment, hold more sway than others. They become keys to unlocking minds, stirring hearts, and igniting a call to action.

1 Tool/Activity Worth Testing

Something I've been pondering...
“When confronted with challenging feedback, resist the instinctive urge to raise your defences. Instead, follow the less-travelled road of curiosity and thankfulness. Seeing the critique as a piece of your growth story helps you embrace gratitude for these learning opportunities. It's easy to forget that uncomfortable feedback is often the result of someone investing time and effort to help you get better. Let's redefine our reaction to criticism and turn it into a springboard for our growth and success."

Starting small and allowing the process to grow organically is a great strategy. Introducing The Emotional Culture Deck in a smaller, more intimate setting initially, perhaps with a specific team or project group, can give participants a safe and supportive space to become familiar with the tool and the conversations it prompts.
Once this smaller group becomes comfortable using the deck, they can act as ambassadors for the tool within the wider organisation. This way, the Emotional Culture Deck and the positive emotional culture it fosters can ripple outwards, gradually encompassing the entire organisation. Creating an emotional culture should not only be a top-down enforced strategy. A bottom-up approach will lead to a more engaged, happy, and productive workforce.
